Widows Christmas Food Bank 2024 - Badagry
The annual HOGWIN Widows Christmas Foodbank climaxed at the Badagry edition held at the Okoafo suburb of Badagry area in Lagos on Saturday December 21, 2024.
The annual Widows Christmas Foodbank which is a flagship program of HOGWIN, held the Badagry edition in honor of our Co-founder Mrs. Gift Audu who sadly transited the earth in 2024. Having lived as a community leader in Okoafo for almost two decades, it was indeed a fitting way to commemorate her passing in honor of the enduring legacies of Mrs. Gift Audu.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Mrs. Oriakhi thanked the organization for reaching out to widows particularly at this time as the economic situation was causing untold hardship on families and widows in particular. She prayed for more intervention and particularly for government support to HOGWIN so that the organization will be able to do more for widows and their dependent children. In the same vein, Mrs. Aje praised HOGWIN for bringing succor to widows and thanked the organization for sustaining the work and legacies of the late founder Mrs. Gift Audu. She prayed for more support and encouraged more individuals and organizations to support the work of HOGWIN to reach and impact more widows across the country.
In closing Mr. phranklin Audu, Executive Director, Hands of God Widows Support Initiative (HOGWIN) thanked the beneficiaries and extolled their resilience in the face of the challenges they endure as widows. He encouraged and admonished that widows take up vocations and skills that may help them lead more productive lives as widowhood does not confer redundance upon anyone.
